The paper attempts to analyse the sources of external lightning of historical buildings, the Juliusz Slowacki Theatre and Scena Miniatura in Krakow, in the context of light pollution. General characteristics of light pollution were presented as well as the results of inventory of external lighting, which included information about categories of light sources, their location, colour and direction of the light and assessment in the context of contributing to light pollution. In order to reduce light pollution and improve functionality and quality of the existing external lightning, the changes in lightning installation were proposed.
