Abstract

In 2018 the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology in Warsaw, Poland, celebrates the 100th Aniversary of its setting-up and this article is a part of the special issue devoted to the century of a research conducted in the Institute related to the cytoskeleton, cell motility and muscle contraction. The article describes the history of the research, and groups working on the motile and contractile processes through the decades.
